Refunds at SwitchTender.
This page is part of the operating terms of the business, not legal advice to you. It covers what happens when you have paid us and it turns out to have been the wrong call.
Try it first
Community is free forever and is not a trial, so most of SwitchTender can be evaluated without asking anyone for anything. For the paid features, a 30-day trial license is an email away, with no card, no payment details, and nothing to cancel. Nobody should have to buy this to find out whether it works, and we would rather you spent the 30 days than bought on faith.
The first 30 days
If you decide within 30 days of your payment reaching us that buying was the wrong call, tell us and we refund the full amount. Your judgment is enough. There is no metric to meet, no reason to give, and nothing to prove. The clock starts when the money arrives rather than when the invoice was raised, so paying on your own terms never shortens it. If the invoice is not paid yet, ask within 30 days of its date and we cancel it.
This covers your first paid term on Pro and on Team. It is there to make a first purchase safe, so renewals are not covered. Enterprise terms are written on the order form, where a negotiated agreement belongs. The year of Team bundled into the Migration Program is not covered here either. It arrives with a services engagement, and that engagement's written agreement governs what happens to it and what is refundable.
Taking the refund ends the license. Paid features stop and your install falls back to Community, which keeps every host, every run, every receipt, and all of your evidence, with no seat cap, no host cap, and no expiry. Delete the license file. We will not check, and we are not going to pretend otherwise.
After the first 30 days
An annual term is a commitment on both sides, so we do not refund it as a matter of course once the first 30 days have passed, and we do not prorate a change of mind. The reason is that a window is bounded and proration is not: 30 days on a first purchase is a cost we can carry, while a standing right to hand back the unused part of any term turns every year we sell into an option against us.
A product that stops working is a different situation, and it has a remedy. If a documented feature of the tier you bought materially stops doing what the documentation for that release says it does, email us and describe what broke. From the day that email arrives we have 30 days to put it right, which can mean a patch, a release, a configuration change, or a workaround that gets the feature working again. If the 30 days pass and it is still broken, we choose between committing in writing to a fix date and refunding the unused part of your term, measured from the day you wrote. If we refund, the license ends when the money is paid, and your install falls back to Community with everything it holds. Keeping a year of your money for a product you can no longer use is not something we are willing to do.
Moving up mid-term
Moving to a higher tier or a larger fleet band mid-term costs the difference for the time left in your term, credited at the daily rate for what you already paid. Your term does not restart and you never pay twice for the same months. We issue a new signed license file for the rest of the term.
Moving down mid-term
We do not refund the difference for moving down inside a term you have already paid. Move down at renewal instead, at no cost and with no penalty, and the smaller price applies from the renewal date. If your fleet has already dropped below your band, tell us at renewal and pay the smaller number.
Not renewing
Letting a license lapse is not a cancellation and there is nothing to refund at the end of a term you used. It also takes nothing from you: paid features stop, and your data, your evidence, your receipts, and every Community feature keep working. See the terms for exactly what a lapse does and does not do.
How to ask
Email hello@kordloom.com with your organization name and what happened. There is no form, no ticket queue, and no retention call. You get a decision within five business days. An approved refund goes back the way the invoice was paid within 15 days. Your bank usually adds another week. Those two timings bind us under the terms. Support response times are set on your order, and these are set here.
Services are separate
The SwitchTender Migration Program is a services engagement with its own written agreement. Its payment and cancellation terms live in that agreement rather than on this page, and so does what happens to the first year of Team included in it.
Changes
If this policy changes, the effective date below changes with it, and the policy in force when you paid keeps covering that term.
