Privacy at SwitchTender.
This page covers the website, what we hold because you are a customer, and the Enterprise services we operate. It collects as little as possible, and it says plainly where that stops being true.
Cookies
This site sets no cookies. No advertising cookies, no cross-site trackers, no marketing pixels. There is nothing to consent to, so there is no cookie banner.
Analytics
No analytics script runs in your browser on this site, and there is no fingerprinting. Basic traffic totals come from Cloudflare's edge, counted from ordinary request logs at the network level, with nothing that identifies you personally.
The software is self-hosted
When you run SwitchTender, its runs, hosts, users, secrets, and audit chain live on your own infrastructure. The license is verified offline against a key compiled into the binary, so there is no license server, no activation, and no check-in. We collect no telemetry and no usage data, we cannot see your fleet, and we count nothing. That is a property of where the software runs rather than a promise about our conduct, which is why it is worth more than a promise.
Enterprise services are the exception
Enterprise agreements can add services we operate, such as a hosted witness that countersigns a chain feed you send us, or evidence custody. Those exist only because data reaches us, so the paragraph above does not describe them. Nothing sends us anything unless you have bought a service that asks for it and configured your install to do so.
What such a service receives, where it holds it, for how long, and what happens to it when the agreement ends is written into your order form before you send us anything, rather than left to this page. The duties in the terms apply to all of it: it stays yours, we claim nothing, we do not sell it, train on it, or publish it, and we return or destroy it on request.
What we hold because you are a customer
Starting a trial, buying, or renewing means we hold your organization name, the fleet band you told us, the name and email address of whoever wrote to us, and the billing contact and address your invoice needs. We hold the invoices themselves, and the license files we issued you, because both are records of what we sold.
Card checkout is not live. Purchases today are an email and an invoice, so no payment processor holds anything for us and we never see a card number. When card checkout ships, this page will say who processes the payment before the first one is taken.
What we do with it
We answer you, issue and renew your license, send your invoice, and keep the records a business has to keep. We do not sell it, rent it, trade it, or share it for anyone else's marketing. We do not add you to a list because you emailed us. There is no profiling and no automated decision-making.
How long we keep it
Correspondence stays while the question is open and for as long as it is useful to answer the next one from you. Invoices and the records behind them are kept for seven years, because tax and accounting rules require it. License records are kept while the license could still be relied on, since a customer sometimes needs us to confirm what was issued. Material you send us for support is deleted on request once the question is closed.
Who else handles it
Two companies, both for infrastructure rather than for anything to do with you specifically. Cloudflare serves this website and its edge produces the request logs the traffic totals come from. Google Workspace carries our email, so anything you send us sits in a mailbox there. Neither is given your information for their own purposes, and we add nobody else without saying so here first.
Your choices
Ask us what we hold about you and we will tell you. Ask us to correct it and we will. Ask us to delete it and we will, apart from what an invoice record legally has to keep, and we will say which is which rather than refusing the whole request. One email is enough and there is no form.
Where we are
